I must agree with Eric, I also like the version played on "Cold Case" better than the newer version.
I came across the audio recording by accident, it was only then that I looked it up on YouTube and saw the CC video. i.e. it wasn't a liking engendered by having an attachment to the TV characters.
The female singer used for the TV show gives a lot to the song. That's why we all wanted to know who she is. I'm still looking on the net for the answer.
Nonethess, you have written a brilliant song!! All the best for your singing career.

Please don't be offended but I like the version for the TV show the best. The harmony is more to my liking. That's not to say your latest effort isn't good, it's great. It just doesn't quite recreate the moment from the TV show. There was chemistry on the show between the actors and it was created by your duet on the soundtrack. Have a listen, it's that magic that all these posters are yearning for.

i see im a bit late to comment after watching cold case. didnt the episode before yesterday. anyway, i instantly fell in love with this song, and i cant understand why i havent heard about you before :O just as the story in cold case states, thats a song thats going to be an instant hit. at so it really should be in real life too. this is the best i ever heard from the wrong side of the atlantic ;)

Hello! I´m a 25-year-old woman writing to you from Finland! The Cold Case episode with "Counting my lucky stars" in it just aired here in Finland (ended just two minutes ago :)). I totally fell in love with the song and your singing voice. I googled the song right away and here I am. My boyfriend, with whom I live, is a heavy metal musician and I too listen to and like quite heavy rock music, but I´ve liked country too. Never that much that I`d had bought cds or anything, but this was something spectacular. I believe that it´s your soft and not too nasal voice that pleases me so much. I never considered myself a fan of country music either. Certainly won't find any in my current music collection.
However, something about this song really gets to me.

I first heard your song "Counting My Lucky Stars" on Jennifer O'Dell's myspace page (also a fan of hers). Anyway, I found it extremely surprising how much I loved the song! I was never into country music, and have often laughed at those who were. I myself, still haven't grasped the idea of me listening to country music, especially because...I'm asian and... well,...it's just weird for me -a good weird I guess, though I'm not exactly ready to start blasting "Country" out of my car just yet. You are probably the first country artist I have ever liked. Your music has a light serious tone that I can appreciate (and not much of that "yodel" that you guys do lol). I want to thank you for the great music. I find it so soulful, and inspiring, and thought provoking.
